OUR STUDENTS

  • 129 students:  Preschool 3 year old—1/2 day, Preschool  4 year-old—1/2 or full day, full-day Kindergarten, and Grades 1 through 8
  • 95% are Catholic and 5% are members of other Christian faiths
  • Approximately 90% of our graduates take advanced/honors level courses when they enter high school
  • Average class size of 12

OUR TEACHERS

  • All teachers hold state certification
  • 6 of 8 full-time faculty members hold Masters Degrees in Education
  • Faculty averages 16 years of classroom experience
  • Additional faculty includes Music teacher and P.E. teacher
  • Speech Therapist, Librarian, Computer, Spanish, and Art teachers provided by Lake Central School Corporation

OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAM

  • School rated “exemplary” by the State of Indiana
  • Daily Religion classes use Diocesan approved textbook series
  • All other courses meet Indiana state standards
  • Phonics taught in Preschool through 3rd  Grade
  • Computer lab with 20 computers, plus computers in every classroom; all are networked with Internet access
  • P.E., Art, Computer, and Music taught at all levels, including Preschool
  • Spanish taught in Kindergarten through 8th Grade
  • Preschool for 3 and 4 year-olds, Full-Day Kindergarten, and Grades 1 through 8
  • Students in Grades 3-8 participate in the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress (ISTEP) program
    • Students in Grade 2 prepare for the ISTEP by taking a full battery Terra Nova Assessment
    • Student scores continue to average above the 90% proficiency level

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

  • Music program includes Choir, Junior Band, and Senior Band
  • Drama Club, Student Council, Spring Musical
  • Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Cross-Country, Track, and Cheerleading are offered for students in Grades 5 through 8
  • Participation in academic competitions locally and regionally
  • Before/After School Care Program available
  • Bus Service and Hot Lunch Program provided by Lake Central School Corporation
  • Westlake Special Services available
